I guess since this is okayplayer, we all want to “keep it real,” “stay true to the essence,” and “battle the evil legions of Soulja Boy-ification,” etc. etc. But do we really want to be Dead Letter Perfect? Chicago’s own Soulstice says yes, emphatically and repeatedly; I – a devotee of hip-hop as a living language – beg to differ. (More...)
